The third edition of the Gran Canaria International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival celebrated on January 16th its Closing Ceremony at the Centro Insular de Turismo of Yumbo Center (Playa del Inglés), with the presence of a lot of people. At the ceremony, the film Shen Xia Guang Nian (Eternal Summer), of the director Lester Chen, won the Award of Best Film. The judges decided to give this award, because the film talks about love and that feeling has no cultural or language obstacles. The Canary film Gallos won the award of Best Short Film. The director of this lovely comedy was at the ceremony and was very thankful for winning this award, especially because it was at his own Island, that worshipped his film that tells a story in only three minutes.

The award of Best Actor was given to a child, the young Ramón Novell, of the short film Vestido nuevo (of Sergi Pérez), who could speak with his eyes the feelings of his little heart.

The three actresses of the short film El patio de mi casa (of Pilar Gutiérrez) had to share the award of Best Actress. The judges could not give the award just to one protagonist of the film, they wanted to reward all of the members of this production.

A lot of authorities and celebrities, like Luz Caballero, Cultural and Historical Counciller of Gran Canaria; Pino Martín, Political and Equality Director of San Bartolomé de Tirajana; and José Antonio Godoy, Tourism Vice-Counciller of Gran Canaria, was at the closing ceremony, that was presented by the Festival Director Frieder M. Egermann and with the presence of the famous television presenter, Drag, Deborah Ombres.
